Ultrasound

Ultrasonography allows for complete 3D, real time visualization of a number of internal structures and processes. It is minimally invasive, no radiation involved, and does not typically require sedation on your pet.

Unlike plain radiographs (x-rays), ultrasound imaging allows us to see the tissue architecture within organs, to visualize the pumping process of the heart, and to make accurate measurements of a number of structures within the body. It is also an excellent means of obtaining minimally invasive guided biopsy samples. In more complicated diagnoses, we utilize a specialized ultrasonographer that does multiple ultrasound examinations daily, to perform ultrasounds in our clinic whenever indicated.
