Microchipping

The Animal Hospital of High Park provides microchipping services to all types of pets. Having a microchip in your pet is such a great way to have peace of mind, knowing that your lost pet can be identified by any veterinary facility or animal shelter with a microchip scanner, and promptly be reunited with you.

We have microchips for dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, and reptiles. It is a minimally invasive procedure where we insert a microchip the size of a rice grain under the skin of your pet, or placed into the muscle of your pet bird or reptile. Pets often do not notice the microchip once it has been placed, and are not bothered by it. Occasionally, your pet might require a slight sedation to help them stay calm and safe during the procedure.

Our microchips are registered with 24PetWatch. We always set up and register your pet’s microchip for you at the time of implantation. If you need to change your contact information in the future click here. If you need to report a lost or found pet click here.
