Medical Exams
Regular annual exams are an important part of practicing preventive medicine for our canine and feline companions. Many health problems are more easily treated if discovered early, or better yet prevented by appropriate vaccinations, parasite prevention and diet.
Our annual examination appointments provide you with the time to discuss the individual needs of your pet. This also allows us to tailor your pet’s health care plan and manage other important health issues. Questions during appointments are encouraged as we feel it is important for you to be an integral part of the health care team for your beloved pet.
Specialized Medical Exams for Exotic Pets
The Animal Hospital of High Park also provides comprehensive medical exams for your exotic pets like rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, rats, birds and reptiles etc. We utilize an endoscope (a medical equipment with a slim handheld camera/scope) to look into your pet’s mouth, eyes, nose and ears to get a close up look at those areas so that nothing is missed in the exam. All our veterinarians are knowledgeable in your pet’s unique health needs, nutrition and husbandry requirements and are able to provide counseling in those areas. When exotic pets start to develop an illness, they deteriorate very quickly, therefore, we recommend that exotic pets be seen by a veterinarian at least twice a year.
